80s summer house

Client:

Private

Year:

2020

Nestled in the Saronic Gulf coast the summer house was originally built back in 1982 by the architect Ino Pikioni, daughter of the acclaimed Dimitris Pikionis with considerable influence on modern Greek architecture.

Passing on to the next generation the house had to fulfil the contemporary needs of a larger family. The intervention includes a 3rd bedroom, 2 new bathrooms and kitchen, outdoor shaded areas and a swimming pool. The harmonious proportions, the minimalistic design and the modernist aesthetics came as an inspiration and defined the design procedure. Simple white volumes, recessed walls and structured geometries belie the hidden complexities of our design.

A calm place that embraces the earth’s natural terrain, ample sunlight and the incredible sea views surrounding it.
